Ready to play? The hardest part of starting pickleball is just finding where to go. Here's how to find courts, open play, and players near you.

Start with the court finder

Use the Find Courts page on this site to search for courts near you. You can sort by distance, see addresses and hours, and find out which courts have open play. It's the fastest way to find a place to start.

Look for open play (drop-in)

Open play (also called drop-in) is the best entry point for new players:

• No partner or reservation needed — just show up and join the rotation.
• You'll meet players of all levels who rotate on and off courts.
• Many locations post beginner-friendly open-play times during the week.

Check a court's page for its schedule, and don't be shy about going alone — that's how most people start.

Find players and groups

• Join a court's community on this site to see scheduled play, events, and who's checking in.
• Post on the court's board to find a partner or set up a game.
• Look for beginner sessions, clinics, or lessons offered by local courts.

Indoor vs outdoor

• Outdoor courts are common and free at many parks — bring outdoor balls.
• Indoor courts are great in bad weather and often host organized sessions. Browse the indoor courts list to find one.

Your first visit checklist

• Find a nearby court with the Find Courts page.
• Check its hours and open-play schedule.

• Arrive a few minutes early and add your paddle to the rotation.
